Vonviper’s Chattanooga Map
This Map reminds me of the Heights of Gettysburg , the Assaults of Fredericksburg , and the Bridge and ford crossings of Antietam .
I have never seen a Map blended so well, this is truly amazing work by Vonviper .
I’m posting these, due to the fact that Von is too busy to post them, Map is subject to change upon final release.
ETA - unknown.

How many times have I said?...This Game Just Keeps Getting Better and Better. Beautiful work...can't wait to set up reb defenses on Lookout Mountain...upon which you can see, what, seven states?
Still have joyous memories from my youth of experiencing 'Rock City, Ruby Falls, and of course, sitting on the cannons, imagining where I'd set up my defenses to decimate the Yankee invaders...don't worry, I've mellowed, I find now that most yanks are fine folks...just, what can I say...kinda yankeelike.
Looking forward to revin' up WarTool on this beaut', it just rebelyells for custom scenarios. _________________

I've been looking at the pictures every day since they were posted and dreaming of the day when this map is available.
Your choice of colours and hues is wonderful. It looks as close to real as is possible with this game engine.
And those wide open, rolling killing fields, with a few restricted river crossings. Endless days of Open Play. |

What Von has done is quite remarkable, not only in the sense that this map is truly spectacular visually, but the map offers a style of play that has not been pursued before.
The layout of the land offers the player to take advantage of the heights, while guarding the bridges, and the fords to his rear. This brings a level of campaigning to the map.
The map is set up to fight along the creek banks, without being able to cross the creek, except at the designed areas. The menacing creek will quickly divide your Army, forcing you to march part of your army downstream to the nearest bridge or ford.
A loss of a crucial part of the field presents an excellent flanking opportunity to the opposing army.
Failure to take and keep the crossings, means that your reinforcements must march on a long and slow maneuver to offer any type of support.
The artillery will love the heights, Infantry will love the rolling terrain, and the cavalry will love the multiple trails that offers quick sneak attacks. This is the most challenging map that I have ever seen.

Sure wish you'd consider doing a Gettbysburg 2nd day map. Davinci did a nice job with his 1st day map, but it stops at the Little Round Top. We need the complete Big Round Top and also more of the Culp's Hill area on the Union right.
This game's not getting any younger, the time is right, and you're Cookin'. _________________

Gettysburg south would be a good idea.
Personally, though, my vote is for one of the following:
One of the Seven Days' battlefields (any old one);
One of the battles of the Atlanta Campaign; or
Perryville (since we've already got Stones River, Chickamauga, and
now soon-to-be Chattanooga). _________________ Murphy's Laws of Combat:

Law #5: Fortify your front well enough...and they'll definitely gain your rear. |
