There was also a cavalry corp in 2nd Manassas, the 1rst corp, being commanded by brig general Beardsley.

Colonel Edwards has decided that he will not have the time to dedicate to playing Major General Pope. Are there any nominations or Volunteers for this position? If there are please either post them here or PM me.

it is with a heavy hart that i must step down from my position in command of the Army of Virginia. I Have School Sports, and more sports to deal with and an army cannot be run in this manner. i will remain in this position until a successor can be found, then i will be placed where the new commander sees fit. I will do the best i can, until the time comes

This thing probably won't really get rolling for another month, you guys should be out of school for the summer by then. Maybe you'll have more time when school let's out.

Good point TC. I'm not in this Yankee Army, but it doesn't seem to me, that you (Col. E) have to step entirely down. You could take a "leave" and give temporary command to the ranking officer. This happened quite a bit, and still does.

Yes, it is up to you. The website will probably not be up for another two to three weeks. This will be slow moving at first. We are just a bunch of dumb country boys trying to act like we know what we are doing (just kidding). Think about it, and wait till we actually start the clan functions. *S*

This is really starting to have a historical ring to it, only it was usually after the battle that the Union army got a new commander.

That was one of the problems with the Union, the constantly changing commander.

Now I canít speak for the rest of the army, but I think it is a little premature to be changing commanders. Since none of us really knows how or when this is going to play out, I would like to keep Col E as commander.

To help relieve some of the pressure, maybe the corps commanders can recruit their subordinate commander. This appears to be the only real big job until the web site comes on line and the rules are ironed out.

If at a time in the future it does become too much then might be a better time to tender your resignation.

I have added the two new members that you have sent me. Looks like you are getting the ranks filled. I want you to look up the following three words, and tell me what they mean to you. "Delagation of authority". Just write me a quick note telling me what you think it means. I have a point to make lol.

General Pope,

Sir,

I have taken it upon myself to recruit a gentleman of honor and experiance, floresjo23. I have known him these past many years and feel he would make a fine addition to your command.

I respectfully request you accept his appointment to Major General Joseph Hookerís 2nd Division.

Your humble servant,
MG Heinztelman
Cdr, 3rd Corps, AOP
